Golf Channel Partners With Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
Network makes history and will air first regular season all-women's tournament
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The 10th edition of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate (Feb. 28-March 2) will make its television debut on Golf Channel at the end of the month. The network will carry live coverage every day from 2:30-5:30 p.m. (ET) with encore presentations later in the night.
There will be 21 hours total of airtime for the event.
It will make history as the first all-women’s regular season collegiate golf tournament to be aired live on Golf Channel.
The annual tournament was not held last year because of COVID-19. Long Cove Club, in partnership with Darius Rucker and South Carolina, will again play host on Hilton Head Island.
“Since 2012 the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club has become one of the premier events in collegiate golf, and I have always been extremely proud of the involvement of the University of South Carolina women’s golf program in such a first-class tournament,” said head coach Kalen Anderson. “Long Cove Club is special championship venue, while the hospitality of the club’s staff, membership and the private Darius concert create an even more memorable experience. To now have the opportunity to partner with the Golf Channel to televise our incredible event and showcase women’s collegiate golf is a dream come true. A special thank you to Long Cove Club, the Golf Channel, Darius Rucker, the University of South Carolina, and all sponsors involved.”
This year’s event features a loaded field: Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Furman, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, North Carolina, Northwestern, South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
