TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — No. 3 South Carolina opens play at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional on Monday morning. The Gamecocks are the top seed in the 12-team field. Carolina will be paired with No. 11 UCLA and No. 15 Florida State, teeing off on hole one starting at 8 a.m. (ET).

“We had a very solid practice round today, and the team has a very positive mindset,” said head coach Kalen Anderson. “There are some great risk/reward opportunities, and the course has some challenging green complexes. We are looking forward to competing the next three days and continuing our process.”

It’s the same five-player lineup as its been all season for the Gamecocks. The freshmen duo of Louise Rydqvist and Hannah Darling are slotted in the top two spots. Junior Mathilde Claisse, an experienced three-year starter, will be in the middle. Junior Justine Fournand and graduate senior Tai Anudit round out the final two spots. Sophomore Paula Kirner will serve as the team’s sub this week at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. She was a starter on last season’s team that advanced to the NCAA Championship.

This marks the 23rd straight NCAA Regional appearance for the program dating back to 1999.

Under Anderson, the Gamecocks have won five NCAA Regional titles (2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017) and have advanced to nine NCAA Championships in the last 11 seasons; the program had appeared in the NCAA Championship a total of eight times since 1980 before her arrival in 2008.

This season marks the first on the women’s side in which there will be six regional sites with 12 teams (72 total) and six individuals (36 total).  The top four teams and top two individuals (not on an advancing team) will move on from each regional site to the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship (May 20-25), which will be held at Grayhawk Golf Club (Raptor Course) in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the second consecutive year.

Live scoring is available all three rounds via Golfstat.
