BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Senior AllAmerican Ryan Hall was named Second Team All-SEC as the league office announced its postseason golf awards on Friday. He’s the 19th All-SEC selection under head coach Bill McDonald.

Hall, who was a First Team All-SEC selection last season after producing one of the finest seasons ever by a Gamecock, is the ninth player in program history to earn All-SEC honors on multiple occasions and the first since All-American Scott Stevens in 2019. He was also named to the SEC Community Service Team for the first time in his career.

The Knoxville, Tenn., native’s 70.59 scoring average is the lowest all-time at South Carolina. He’s the only player in school history to have a career scoring average sub-71.

Hall leads the team this season with a 70.40 scoring average. He’s finished in the top-20 in eight of nine starts with three top-fives and four top-10s. Hall notched his fourth career win (T-2nsd most all-time) at the Palmetto Intercollegiate (March 7-8). He shot 200 (-10) to win by five shots. Hall has been a model of consistency his entire career in Garnet & Black, finishing in the top-20 in 25 of his 34 career starts.

The 24th-ranked Gamecocks are set to compete at the NCAA Norman Regional (May 16-18). First round action gets underway on Monday morning and live scoring will be available for the duration of the tournament via Golfstat. The top-five teams in the 13-team field after 54-holes will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Carolina is the No. 4 seed in its region which features top-ranked Oklahoma, No. 7 Texas and four teams from the SEC.
