Gamecocks Announce 2022-23 Schedule
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Equestrian has released its 2022-23, as announced on Monday.
“We have a very busy schedule this year with the majority of our meets in the fall,” head coach Boo Major said. “We’re very excited to once again be hosting the SEC Equestrian Championships at OneWood Farm in March. That will be a great activity for Gamecock fans to attend. The schedule is challenging and we are looking forward to the challenge.”
The Gamecocks will host five competitions, and spend five on the road, returning home to hold the SEC Championships, March 24-25. NCEA Championships will be held in Ocala, F.L. April 13-15.
Ahead of the regular season, South Carolina will hold a Garnet & Black Scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 16 at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C.
Carolina will open the 2022-23 season on the road, taking on Delaware State University and Minnesota Crookston at DSU on Friday, Sept. 23. The Gamecocks will head back to Blythewood for their home opener against Baylor, Thursday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 p.m.
To open October competition, Carolina will take on Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 8 in College Station. T.X. The Gamecocks then face UT Martin on the road on Friday, Oct. 28.
Carolina will begin a two-competition homestand first against Auburn on Friday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 p.m., followed by Georgia the following week on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1:00 p.m. at One Wood Farm.
After a winter break, the Gamecocks will open 2023 with another Garnet & Black scrimmage in Blythewood, Friday, Jan. 27. Carolina will then hit the road to face the Bulldogs once more in Bishop, G.A. on Saturday, Feb. 4.
South Carolina will have its final two home contests against Texas A&M on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10:00 a.m., and will finish at One Wood Farm for the regular home season facing Southern Methodist on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 1:00 p.m. The Gamecocks will wrap up the 2022-23 season on the road competing against Auburn, Friday, March 3.
Carolina will return home to Blythewood to host the 2023 SEC Championships, Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25. The Gamecocks will look to take home their fourth national championship at the NCEA Championships in Ocala, F.L. April 13-15.
