No. 4 Gamecocks T-3rd, Two in Hunt at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – No. 4 South Carolina moved up the leaderboard and is T-3^rd after 36 holes of the 2022 Landfall Tradition. The Gamecocks shot 286 (-8) as a team today and were powered by 67 (-5) from sophomore All-American Louise Rydqvist, which tied a career-best 18-hole score for her.

She climbed 33 spots up the leaderboard and is three shots back of the lead at 4-under overall. Rydqvist was bogey free and all five birdies came on the back nine as she turned in a 31 coming into the clubhouse.

Senior Justine Fournand, the defending champion, remains one shot off the pace after a second round 71 (-1). She carded three birdies on the day.

Sophomore All-American Hannah Darling and senior Mathilde Claisse each shot 74 (+2) and were the final two counting scores. Freshman Mia Sandtorv Lussand also shot 74 (+2). Graduate transfer Katherine Muzi is playing as an individual this week and had a nice day with a 1-under 71 that featured five red numbers on her scorecard.

No. 9 San Jose State remains in the lead after a 4-under 284. They’re at 14-under overall with No. 2 Wake Forest trailing by four shots at 10-under. The Gamecocks will be paired with both teams for the final round. It will be an 8:45 a.m. (ET) shotgun start for the field with Carolina teeing off on holes one through three.
