Ready for the Rebels: South Carolina Set to Take on Ole Miss in SEC Quarterfinals

PENSACOLA, FL – The No. 14 ranked and two-seeded South Carolina women’s soccer team (11-3-4) will take on Ole Miss (9-6-4) in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 1:00pm EST. The game will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.

South Carolina heads into the game with four players receiving conference awards: Catherine Barry and Jyllissa Harris being named First Team All-SEC selections, in addition to Shae O’Rourke and Gracie Falla receiving All-Freshmen Team honors.

Last Time Out

The Gamecocks wrapped up the regular season at home with a 2-0 shutout over the Missouri Tigers (5-8-4). Despite going into the second half tied at 0-0, South Carolina turned on the offense in the last 45, scoring the first goal in the 50th minute after a pass up the right from Corinna Zullo allowed sophomore Payton Patrick to score in the right corner of the net and put the Gamecocks in the lead.

The second goal of the game came less than four minutes later, when Claire Griffiths knocked one in with her left foot to find and extend the lead by two.

The shutout was the 11th this season for South Carolina, and gave the Gamecocks the SEC East Co-Champions title, giving them the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
