No. 6 Gamecocks to Face No. 3 Aggies for Senior Day

BLYTHEWOOD, SC – The No. 6 South Carolina Equestrian team (5-3) is set to face the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies (6-3) at One Wood Farm for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 9:15 a.m. South Carolina’s five seniors Kiersten Beckner, Mary Margaret Coats, Nina Columbia, Claire Pound, and Madeline Schaefer will be recognized in a ceremony following the conclusion of the meet.

Last Time Out 

The Gamecocks faced No. 7 Georgia in a rematch on Feb. 4, ultimately falling 14-6 on the day. South Carolina saw points from Natalie Jayne and Trinity Hammerschmidt in Fences, Ellie Beard on the Flat, Alyssa Jipping and Kiersten Beckner in Horsemanship, and Emma Lane in Reining. Lane’s career high of 76.5 on Ty earned her an MOP nod on the day, her fifth of the season.

Scouting the Aggies

South Carolina last faced Texas A&M in the fall (Oct. 28, 2022), and was defeated 14-6. The Aggies come into the meet most recently upsetting No. 3 Auburn 13-5, and received MOP honors on the Flat, in Fences and Horsemanship.

Texas A&M currently lead the all-time series against South Carolina 26-12.
