Rafe Reynolds and Evans Lewis each shot 69 (-3) to pace Carolina in R2 at Grand Reserve

RIO GRANDE, P.R. – South Carolina is T-5th with Ole Miss and Wisconsin after 36 holes of the 2023 Puerto Rico Classic, the team’s spring opener. The Gamecocks were led by fifth-year Evans Lewis and junior Rafe Reynolds, who each fired 3-under 69s.

Lewis made four birdies with just one bogey on his scorecard. Reynolds led the team with six birdies. He was bogey free on the front nine turning in a 4-under 32. Reynolds put circles on his scorecard on four of his first five holes on the front nine.

Transfer Lansdon Robbins also fired a red number with a 1-under 71 on Monday. He made four birdies. Sophomore Nathan Franks was the final counting score with a 72 (E). Freshman Zach Adams shot 77 (+5) and freshman Walker Jennings, who is playing as an individual this week, shot 78 (+6).

The Gamecocks will be paired with Ole Miss again and will play alongside Georgia as well for the final round on Tuesday. ETSU remains in the lead at 19-under. Carolina is three shots back of No. 16 Oklahoma and No. 24 Ohio State, who are T-2nd at 14-under after 36 holes.

It’s another shotgun start for the field at 7:30 a.m. (ET). Live scoring will be available again via Golfstat.
