South Carolina Host No. 5/6 Florida in Blackout Game Wednesday

South Carolina Athletics

Fans encouraged to wear black as the Gamecocks welcome another top-five opponent to Colonial Life Arena

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina (10-8, 0-5 SEC) is back at home this week for a pair of home games against top-15 teams at Colonial Life Arena. The Gamecocks will first face No. 5/6 Florida (16-2, 3-2 SEC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (ET) with doors opening an hour prior.

The team will be donning black jerseys and fans are encouraged to follow suit for the blackout game. Carolina defeated No. 6/6 Kentucky, 79-62, in its blackout game last season on Jan. 23.

Mike Morgan (pxp) and Mark Wise (analyst) will be on the call for the SEC Network broadcast.

The Gators will be the seventh ranked opponent the Gamecocks have faced so far this season. All three of South Carolina’s SEC home games this season have been against top-five opponents (No. 5/5 Alabama on Jan. 8 and No. 2/2 Auburn on Jan. 11).

The first 1,200 students to enter the building tomorrow night will receive a special edition, black Cockpit jersey. Click here for more information on claiming student tickets.
