NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship Field Set

COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 5, 2025) – The 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship is just over one week away, and the field is officially set. The site of this year’s indoor championship meet will be the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.

South Carolina will be competing in six total events, including a trio of preliminary rounds. The women’s team will take part in four events, led by First Team All-SEC honoree JaMeesia Ford in the 200m prelim alongside teammate and Second Team All-SEC, Jayla Jamison. Zaya Akins, also Second Team All-SEC, will open the competition for South Carolina with the women’s 400m prelims on Friday, March 14 at 4 p.m.

Saturday, March 15, will serve as finals day with the 400m taking place at 3:20 p.m. and the 200m finals at 3:50 p.m. South Carolina will also compete in the women’s 4x400m relay as Akins, Sylvia Chelangat, Ford and Jamison will lace up the spikes at 4:20 p.m. looking for a second consecutive NCAA Indoor 4x400m title for the program. Cheyla Scott, the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship bronze medalist, will also compete in the high jump finals on Saturday, March 15 at noon.

The Gamecock men will send three athletes to the national championship meet in Anthony Greenhow, CJ Licata and Dylan Targgart. Greenhow will compete in the 200m prelims on Friday, March 14 at 8:32 p.m. The finals of the 200m championship will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 6:50 p.m. Licata and Targgart will both compete in the shot put championship at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The duo finished second (Licata) and fourth (Targgart) in last week’s SEC Indoor Championship.
