Gamecocks Open SEC Tournament Wednesday at 1 p.m. (ET) Against Arkansas

South Carolina Athletics

Carolina seeking to win its fourth-straight over the Razorbacks to dating back to a victory at Bud Walton Arena last season in January

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina (12-19, 2-16 SEC) faces ninth-seeded Arkansas (19-12, 8-10 SEC) in game one of the 2025 SEC Tournament on Wednesday. Tip is set for 1 p.m. (ET) on SEC Network with Dan Shulman (pxp), Jay Bilas (analyst) and Jess Sims (reporter) on the call.

The Razorbacks have helped solidify their NCAA Tournament at-large odds the last month, winning four of their last five games to end the regular season. Their only loss in the stretch was back on March 1, a 72-53 Gamecock win at Colonial Life Arena in which All-SEC forward Collin Murray-Boyles (35) and graduate forward Nick Pringle (18) combined for 53 points. Sophomore transfer Jordan Butler had a season-high nine points off the bench.

Over his last five contests, Murray-Boyles is averaging 23.0 points per game and shooting 63.9% (39-of-61) from the floor and 80.0% (36-of-45) at the free throw line. Over his last three contests, Pringle is averaging 15.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He’s 17-of-30 (56.7%) from the floor and 11-of-15 (73.3%) at the charity stripe.

The Gamecocks defeated Arkansas in the team’s first game of the SEC Tournament last season, 80-66, in the second round. Carolina shot 52.5% (32-of-61) from the floor and scored a season-high 52 points in the paint. The team’s 32 made field goals were a school record in an SEC Tournament game. Murray-Boyles had 24 points and B.J. Mack had 19 to lead Carolina to victory. Murray-Boyles’ 11 made field goals were a program SEC Tournament record as well.

The win was the Gamecocks’ first SEC Tournament win since 2018. A victory in Wednesday’s opening round would mark the first time the Gamecocks have won a game at the SEC Tournament in consecutive years since 2014 and 2015.
