First Team All-American status is awarded to finishers 1-8 (individual and relays), while Second Team All-American is given to those who finish 9-16 (individual and relays). Athletes must have a valid mark to earn All-American status. Those who do not finish a race, no height, foul three attempts or are disqualified will not be eligible for All-American status if no other valid mark from a previous round exists.

Gamecock Lineup
The women will line up first tomorrow with Zaya Akins opening the meet at 4 p.m. in the women’s 400m semifinals. She will then be followed by JaMeesia Ford and Jayla Jamison in the 200m semifinals at 5:02 p.m. Anthony Greenhow will close out Friday’s action in the men’s 200m semifinals at 8:32 p.m.

Saturday the Gamecocks look to compete in six events total, beginning with Cheyla Scott in the women’s high jump at noon. The first track event for South Carolina would be the women’s 400m finals at 3:20 p.m. and the women’s 200m finals at 3:50 p.m. The women’s 4x400m relay finale will close out the women’s portion of the meet at 4:20 p.m. with the Gamecocks competing in the third and final heat. For the men, veteran throwers CJ Licata and Dylan Targgart will compete in the shot put finals at 5 p.m., followed by Greenhow in the men’s 200m finals at 6:50 p.m.

No Strangers to Success
The Gamecocks were led by JaMeesia Ford at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championship as the star freshman captured a gold medal in both the 200m and the 4x400m relay. Ford earned a pair of First Team All-American nods and looks to repeat in 2025 as she is the favorite coming in for the 200m. The Gamecock 4x400m relay squad of Zaya Akins, Sylvia Chelangat, Jayla Jamison and Ford rank second in the NCAA heading into the championship meet. Akins, Jamison and Ford are three of the returners from last year’s squad that took home the gold medal in Boston. Chelangat is no stranger to success in the relay either, transitioning to the outdoor 4x400m relay squad and aiding the Gamecocks in a runner-up finish in the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Oregon in 2024. Cheyla Scott rounds out the competitors for the Gamecock women and is coming off a bronze medal at the SEC Indoor Championship in the high jump. Scott has one First Team All-American honor under her belt, finishing on the First Team All-American squad during the 2024 outdoor championship.

Greenhow finished fifth in the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championship in the 200m, earning his first Indoor First Team All-American nod. Throwers, Licata and Targgart, head into the national championship meet with a lot of success in their careers. Targgart finished as a bronze medalist at both the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championship and the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championship to earn a pair of First Team All-American nods throughout last season. Licata was named to the Second Team All-American squad during the outdoor season. However, the super senior is coming off his first SEC Indoor Championship where he finished runner-up and is looking for his first First Team All-American nod since 2022 when he threw for Princeton.
