Baseball Falls to Ole Miss Saturday Afternoon

COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team fell to Ole Miss, 12-2, in seven innings on Saturday afternoon (April 19) at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park. The Gamecocks won the series, taking the first two games from the Rebels.

Ole Miss scored seven runs in the first inning, with the big swing a grand slam from Austin Fawley. Beau Hollins got two of those runs back with his fourth home run of the season, but Ole Miss scored three in the sixth and two in the seventh for the 10-run win.

The loss went to Jarvis Evans Jr., who allowed five runs and four hits. Matthew Becker went 4.1 innings, striking out six batters and allowing three hits and a run with five walks.

Hollins had two RBI to lead Carolina.
