Lindsey Hodge announced as new coach of Carolina Dance Team
Today, South Carolina Athletics has announced that Lindsey Hodge will become the next head coach of the Carolina Dance Team. Lindsey will replace Lindsay Sprague, who is stepping down after serving the last eighteen years as head coach. Lindsay Sprague will continue her role as Chief Financial Officer of the Gamecock Club.
“I am grateful for the dedication that Lindsay Sprague has given not only to the dance team, but the University as a whole. Over the last eighteen years, she has continued to raise the bar leading the team to three national championships in Division 1A Team Performance at NDA College Nationals, all while increasing the impact our dance team has on our game day experience.” ”
Lindsey Hodge, a member of the Carolina Dance Team for the 2009-2010 season, rejoined the Carolina Dance Team coaching staff as assistant coach in the fall of 2022 after having previously served in the same role for the 2012-2013 season. Lindsey has been a part of one of the three national championships for the team and this past season helped lead the transition from NDA College Nationals to UDA College Nationals, where the team was the only Division IA team to advance to finals in both the Jazz and Hip Hop divisions.
“Lindsey Hodge has been a tremendous asset to the dance team over the last few years as assistant coach and I look forward to her continuing to build of the legacy that Lindsay Sprague has created for the team.”
