
No. 4 Gamecocks Earn Top Seed for NCAA Charlottesville Regional

South Carolina earns 26th consecutive NCAA Regional bid and fifth-straight No. 1 seed
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fresh off its second SEC Championship in program history last Friday, No. 4 South Carolina earned the No. 1 seed for the NCAA Charlottesville Regional announced on Wednesday via the 2025 Division I Women’s Golf Championship Selection Show live on Golf Channel. It marks the fifth-straight No. 1 seed for the Gamecocks and the program’s 26th consecutive trip to NCAA Regionals.
Teams will play 54-holes of stroke play May 5-7 with the top-five teams at each of the six regional sites advancing to the NCAA Championship May 16-21 in Carlsbad, Calif. Omni La Costa Resort & Spa will host the National Championship for both the women’s and men’s sides again for the second consecutive year with Texas as the host school.
In two weeks at Birdwood Golf Course, Carolina will be seeking its fifth-straight NCAA Championship appearance and the 14th under the direction of four-time SEC Coach of the Year Kalen Anderson. She has led the program to new heights with five NCAA Regional titles and 30 tournament wins in her 18-year tenure leading the Gamecocks. Carolina’s last regional title came in 2017 in Columbus.
The Gamecocks will be joined in Charlottesville by a trio of fellow top-25 teams in No. 11 Virginia, No. 16 Ole Miss and No. 21 Florida. The full field for NCAA Regionals can be found here.
