COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team was 2-2 on the week, defeating North Florida in extra innings on Tuesday night and winning 1-of-3 games against Kentucky.

NOTES:
The Gamecocks had their first walk-off win of the season on Tuesday night, defeating North Florida 3-2 in 10 innings on KJ Scobey’s ground-rule double that scored Jordan Carrion. It was Carolina’s first extra-inning win as the Gamecocks remained unbeaten in home midweek contests.
Will Tippett’s two-run home run in the top of the eighth lifted Carolina to a 5-4 win over Kentucky in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday. It was Tippett’s first home run of the season and Carolina’s first win of the season when trailing after seven innings.
Henry Kaczmar had six hits in the three games against Kentucky, upping his batting average in conference games to .353. Kaczmar has 12 RBI in SEC contests, one behind Nathan Hall for the team lead and is slugging .529 in SEC games.
Ashton Crowther picked up his second win of the season on Saturday vs. Kentucky. Crowther struck out four batters in 2.2 innings while not allowing a hit.
Carolina plays all four games at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park this week, hosting Charleston Southern on Tuesday night before facing Florida in a three-game SEC series Friday through Sunday.
