COLUMBIA – Members of the 1975, 2010 and 2011 teams will be at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park this weekend for the series against Florida on May 2-4.

On the 50th anniversary of the program’s first College World Series appearance, the 1975 team will be honored before Friday night’s game against the Gators. Led by head coach Bobby Richardson, the 1975 squad went 51-6-1, winning the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament in Columbia to garner a bid to the College World Series in Omaha. The Gamecocks won four games in Omaha and finished runner-up to Texas. Hank Small led Carolina with a .390 batting average and 19 home runs while Earl Bass won 17 games and had a 1.40 ERA.

Members of the 1975 team and Coach Richardson will be introduced to the fans before the 7 p.m., game.

On Saturday, members of the 2010 and 2011 teams along with the families of Charlie Peters and Bayler Teal will be on field as a highlight of the upcoming SEC Storied: In Spirit will be shown on the videoboard. The documentary focuses on the back-to-back national championships and the bonds the two teams had with Peters and Teal, who both were undergoing cancer treatments. The premiere of the SEC Storied: In Spirit will air on the SEC Network, Wednesday, May 14 at 7 p.m.

Those two teams and the two families will be on field before Saturday’s 4 p.m., game with the Gators. Saturday also is Alumni Day at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park.

Carolina will host Florida in a three-game SEC series May 2-4 at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park. Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday’s games at 4 and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
