Wrice Captures SEC Freshman of the Week Honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 6, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field freshman Josiah Wrice has claimed another SEC Freshman of the Week honor, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Wrice registered a national Top 10 time in the 400 meter last week at the East Coast Relays, running a new personal best time of 45.20 to finish runner-up. His mark resulted in the fourth fastest 400m time in Gamecock history. Additionally, Wrice now sits fifth on the East Regional leaderboard and No. 10 in the NCAA.

Wrice and the rest of the Gamecocks will return to action next week as postseason competition begins with the SEC Outdoor Championship on Thursday, May 15 in Lexington, Ky.
