Ford Named to The Bowerman Pre-Nationals Watch List

COLUMBIA, S.C. (June 4, 2025) – The final The Bowerman Watch List has been announced and South Carolina’s JaMeesia Ford finds her name on the list. The Bowerman Pre-Nationals Watch List was announced by the awards committee on Wednesday afternoon.

 The Bowerman debuted in 2009 and is named after former Oregon Head Coach Bill Bowerman and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female NCAA track & field athletes in the nation.

Ford, the winner of the 2025 Commissioner’s Trophy, earned her place in the NCAA Outdoor Championship in four separate events via the NCAA East Regional. The sophomore sprinter qualified for Eugene in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and the 4x400m. Ford clocked a wind-aided program record of 11.00 (2.3) in the 100m, before running 22.27 (1.4) in the 200m for her two individual advancements. She was the anchor leg for both the 4x100m (42.81) and the 4x400m (3:27.56), willing her relay squads to a spot in the NCAA Championship next week.

Joining Ford on The Bowerman Watch List are Silan Ayyildiz (Oregon-Mid Distance), Alexis Brown (Baylor-Sprints/Jumps), Aaliyah Butler (Georgia-Sprints), Pamela Kosgei (New Mexico-Distance), Doris Lemngole (Alabama-Distance), Indya Mayberry (TCU-Sprints), Amanda Moll (Washington-Pole Vault), Michaela Rose (LSU-Mid Distance) and Jayden Ulrich (Louisville-Throws).

Next up in The Bowerman will be the semifinalists group announced on Wednesday, June 25. The Bowerman Finalists will be revealed on Monday, June 30, while the winner will be officially announced at the yearly convention on Thursday, Dec. 18.

Ford and the Gamecocks will turn their sights on the NCAA Outdoor Championship next week in Eugene, Ore. The national meet will take place on Wednesday, June 11 and will conclude on Saturday, June 15 at Hayward Field.
