Athlon Sports Names Preseason All-America and All-SEC Teams

Six University of South Carolina football players were named to the preseason All-America and All-SEC teams as selected by Athlon Sports, it was announced today.

Edge rusher Dylan Stewart led the Gamecock contingent. The 6-5, 245-pound sophomore from Washington, D.C. was named to Athlon’s first-team All-America and first-team All-SEC squads.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback LaNorris Sellers also earned both All-SEC and All-America preseason accolades according to Athlon. Sellers was a third-team All-SEC selection and a fourth-team All-American according to the national publication.

In addition, junior defensive back Jalon Kilgore was a second-team All-SEC pick, while sophomore offensive lineman Josiah Thompson joined Sellers on the All-SEC third team. Junior wide receiver Nyck Harbor and senior safety DQ Smith garnered spots on Athlon’s fourth-team All-SEC unit.
