Trio of Gamecocks Receive USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Honors
COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 19, 2026) – Following a successful indoor campaign, South Carolina Track & Field earned a trio of USTFCCCA Southeast Regional accolades, as announced by the USTFCCCA committee on Thursday afternoon. Head Coach Tim Hall was named Men’s Coach of the Year, while distance coach Brock Moreaux was named Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year and sophomore sprinter Josiah Wrice earned Men’s Track Athlete of the Year.
Hall led the Gamecock men to a seventh-place team finish at the NCAA DI Indoor Championships, their first top-ten finish since 2010. In addition, he coached seven First Team and nine total All-America honors. South Carolina’s 4×400 relay team won the NCAA DI title, and the program accounted for four program records and 29 new all-time Top-10 program marks. This is the third consecutive year that Coach Hall earned Southeast Regional Coach of the Year, as he was named Women’s Outdoor Southeast Regional Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
Moreaux coached the Gamecocks’ distance medley relay team to program-best runner-up finish at the NCAA DI Indoor Championships along with the school’s first-ever title in the SEC Indoor Championships. Salma Elbadra, a distinguished athlete for the Gamecock distance program, added more program firsts as SEC Indoor mile champion and NCAA DI Indoor 3000-meter scorer. This indoor season, Moreaux was responsible for coaching five First Team All-Americans.
Wrice earned a pair of First-Team All-America honors at the NCAA DI Indoor Championships, finishing fifth in the open 400 meters and leading off South Carolina’s National Championship 4×400 relay squad. The sophomore sprinter set a new program record at the NCAA Indoor Championship in the 400m when he clocked 45.12 to break Quincy Hall’s 2019 program record of 45.25. His 32.36 performance in the 300 meters at the Gamecock Opener made him the seventh-fastest man in collegiate history in that event.
