Verzyl Earns First Team All-American Honors, Finishes Second

ATLANTA, Ga. – Senior Sophie Verzyl earned the third All-American accolade of her career after finishing as the national runner-up in the 1-meter dive on Thursday evening inside the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Verzyl was the top seed heading into the evening session and finished with a score of 345.45

Seniors Jordan Agliano and Amy Riordan also represented the Gamecocks in this morning’s prelims session.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Agliano recorded a time of 52.26, placing her 37th in the nation. She will return to swim the 200 butterfly later this week. Riordan competed in the 200-yard freestyle, where she finished 27th with a time of 1:44.22. She will also compete in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.

Prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. and finals to follow at 6 p.m. All sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+. Viewing links and additional information about the event are available on the championship webpage.
