Gamecocks Travel to North Carolina for Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. (Mar. 25, 2026) – South Carolina Track & Field returns to action this week in Raleigh, N.C., taking part in the Raleigh Relays for the third consecutive season. This will be the first time in three years that the Gamecocks will be sending the entire squad to compete, as opposed to running in distance events only as in years past.

Meet Information
The Raleigh Relays will be a three-day event beginning on Thursday at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. The opening event on the docket for the Gamecocks will be the men’s javelin at 9:45 a.m., with the first track event being the men’s 1500m at 4:05 p.m. Friday’s action will boast a full slate for South Carolina, competing in 11 events on the day beginning with the women’s discus at 10 a.m. and concluding with the women’s 10K at 10:05 p.m. Saturday will begin for South Carolina at 10 a.m. as both the women’s pole vault and women’s long jump will kick off the final day. The Gamecocks’ final event of the weekend will be the women’s 4×400 meter relay at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

The Gamecocks have a total of 63 entries in the field this week in Raleigh, fully jumping into outdoor season after compiling 31 entries a week ago at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.

Regional Recognition
On Thursday, March 19, South Carolina Track & Field garnered three separate USTFCCCA Southeast Regional awards. Head Coach Tim Hall was named Men’s Coach of the Year, while Assistant Coach Brock Moreaux was tabbed as the Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year. Josiah Wrice laid claim to Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the Southeast Region. For Coach Hall, this marked the third consecutive year that he earned Southeast Regional Coach of the Year, as he was named Women’s Outdoor Southeast Regional Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
