No. 27 Women's Tennis Falls to No. 8 Oklahoma on Friday
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 27 South Carolina women’s tennis team fell to No. 8 Oklahoma, 4-0, on Friday evening in Norman, Okla.
The Sooners claimed the early advantage by securing the doubles point, taking wins on courts two and three. Helena Buchwald and Lauren Friedman were leading the No.1 duo from Oklahoma, 4-3, before the match was marked unfinished.
In singles play, Oklahoma was able to pick up first-set victories on all six courts. Despite hard-fought battles from the Gamecocks, the Sooners were able to clinch the match at 4-0. Taylor Goetz and Jane Dunyon were leading their opponents in their respective second sets before their courts were also marked unfinished.
South Carolina will remain on the road as they take on Arkansas on Sunday in Fayetteville. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
