No. 19 Beach Volleyball Falls to Boise State

FORT WORTH, Texas. – The No. 19 South Carolina beach volleyball team fell, 3-2, to Boise State on Saturday afternoon in the final day of the Big 12 Preview in Fort Worth, Texas.

Despite Juju Quintero and Lauren Lawson falling to the No. 4 pair from Boise State, Morgan Downs and Amelia Taft were able to tie things up with a straight-set win from the fifth position. Boise State ran away with a win from the first position, giving them a 2-1 advantage. Evie Ziffer and Julia Waugh grabbed a first-set win, but the Broncos fought back in the second, forcing extra play. The duo was able to give South Carolina another point, taking the third set 16-14. However, Boise State clinched the match with a win from their No. 2 duo, who defeated Jolie Cranford and Peyton Yamagata.

The Gamecocks are back in action next weekend as they travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the Wildcat Spring Challenge, hosted by Arizona.
