LeCroy Named to Buster Posey Award Midseason Watch List

WICHITA – University of South Carolina fifth year catcher Talmadge LeCroy has been named to the Buster Posey National Catcher of the Year Award Midseason Watch List, the Wichita Sports Commission announced this morning (Wednesday, April 1). LeCroy is one of 50 catchers nationwide to be named to the watch list.

LeCroy has played and started in all 30 games for the Gamecocks this season with 29 of those starts at catcher. He is hitting .284 with 17 runs scored, four doubles, five home runs and 19 RBI while walking 20 times for a .413 on-base percentage. LeCroy has thrown out eight runners trying to steal, including a pair in last weekend’s series at No. 7 Georgia.

In his five-year career at Carolina, LeCroy has played in 203 games, which is 13th all-time in Gamecock baseball history. He has 124 runs scored, 165 hits, 30 doubles, 12 home runs and 106 RBI as a Gamecock.

LeCroy and the Gamecocks welcome No. 2 Texas to Founders Park starting on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. That game will be televised on SEC Network.
