South Carolina Travels to Gainesville for Pepsi Florida Relays
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (April 2, 2026) – South Carolina Track & Field is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays. The 2026 Pepsi Florida Relays will be a two-day meet beginning on Friday morning at Percy Beard Track and will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Meet Information
The Pepsi Florida Relays will be a two-day event that will feature some of the top teams from across the country. On the men’s side, four teams attending are currently ranked inside the first outdoor USTFCCCA Top 25 rankings that were just released on Tuesday. Michigan enters the field with the highest ranking of fourth, followed by No. 15 Florida State, No. 20 South Florida and host Florida who sits 22nd overall.
Meanwhile on the women’s side, the Gamecocks enter the meet as the highest ranked squad sitting in eighth overall. South Carolina is followed by No. 11 Florida, No. 20 Michigan, No. 21 Miami (Fla.), No. 23 Florida State and Notre Dame who ranks out the list at 24th.
The Gamecocks first event on Friday will be the women’s 4x100m preliminary round at 2:30 p.m., while the final competition on Friday will be the men’s 1500m invite section at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, the Garnet & Black will compete in 17 events beginning with the men’s shot put and women’s 100-meter hurdle at noon and will conclude with both the women’s and men’s 4x400m relays at 6:25 and 6:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Gamecocks most recently competed in the Raleigh Relays last weekend, turning in seven new Top 10 program marks. Among the new Top 10 program marks was a new school record in the women’s 10K as Anya Arroyo clocked 33:43.49 to finish runner-up in the event.
The Gamecocks also dominated the relays over the weekend, winning all three relay events on Saturday. One of those wins included the women’s 4x400m relay of JaMeesia Ford, Akala Garrett, Cynteria James and Zaya Akins recording the second fastest time in the NCAA this season with a mark of 3:29.27, just missing out on the program’s all-time Top 10 list.
