Seven Gamecocks Earn CSC Academic All-District Swimming & Diving Team
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seven Gamecocks from the South Carolina swimming & diving team were named to the 2026 Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women’s Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women’s swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
CSC All-District team members meet the following criteria: At least a sophomore athletically and academically, owns at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in five competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet OR compete in a national championship.
The women’s team is represented by Amy Riordan, Emma Reiser, Jordan Agliano and Sophie Verzyl. The men’s team honorees are Pierre Largeron, Harvey Freeman and Gage Hulbert.
Riordan, a Biological Sciences major, qualified for her third NCAA Championships this season, where she finished 19th in the 200-yard backstroke, 27th in the 200-yard freestyle and 50th in the 100-yard backstroke. She earned two school records at the SEC Championships last month in the 200 freestyle (1:43.60) and 100 backstroke (51.50). She claimed four pool records, including breaking the 200-yard backstroke pool twice (1:52.28/1:51.78), the 100 backstroke at Arkansas (52.41), and one school & pool record (200 freestyle – 1:43.75). She also earned SEC Weekly honors twice this season alongside 12 individual event wins.
Reiser, who is studying Psychology, notched her first bids to the NCAA Championships in the 500 freestyle and 1650 freestyle following lifetime-best performances at SECs. At the NCAA meet, she finished 33rd in the 1650-yard freestyle and 29th in the 500-yard freestyle. Reiser reset her personal best from the conference championship in the 1650 freestyle (16:18.38) at the Bulldog Qualifying Meet to earn the invite for her second NCAA individual event.
Agliano, a Journalism major, qualified for both butterfly events at the NCAA Championships. She finished 17th in the 200-yard butterfly and 37th in the 100-yard butterfly. Her SEC Championships performance was highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. She paired this with a 10th-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly and 12th in the 200-yard backstroke. Throughout the season, she picked up 11 individual event wins.
Verzyl, who is in the Sport and Entertainment Management graduate program, captured her first national title in the 3-meter dive at the 2026 NCAA Championships, marking the first national title in the event in program history. Verzyl was recently named a 2026 finalist for the Honda Sport Award for Swimming and Diving. At NCAAs, she paired the victory with a second-place finish in the 1-meter. Verzyl is now a four-time All-American, having earned second-team All-America honors in both events last season. The Columbia, S.C. native swept the springboard events at the 2026 SEC Championships, defending her title in the 3-meter. She was also named the SEC Diver of the Meet. Throughout the season, Verzyl has collected 13 event wins and five SEC Diver of the Week honors. She set a new program record in the 1-meter dive and holds the pool record in the same event at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center (University of Tennessee).
Largeron, a Sports Media major, qualified for his first NCAA championships, competing in three events. He finished 41st in the 200-yard freestyle and 38th in the 500-yard freestyle. The junior notched two top 15 finishes at the 2026 SEC Championships. He grabbed sixth in the 500-yard freestyle and 13th in the 200-yard freestyle. He was a member of two relays that both finished in the top ten. This season, Largeron accumulated nine individual event wins and one pool record throughout this season.
Freeman, who is studying Aerospace Engineering, competed in three events at the SEC Championships, notching two top 20 finishes in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke. He earned 13 top-five finishes this season alongside four new personal bests. Freeman recorded the second fastest times on the time in both breaststroke events and the third and fourth fastest in the 200-yard individual medley and 400-yard individual medley, respectively.
Hulbert, a Computer Science major, earned a spot on the 2026 SEC Championship roster, where he competed in three events. His best finish came in the 200-yard butterfly, earning 22nd among the conference’s best. Hulbert grabbed two wins and eight top-five finishes during the season.
