South Carolina Athletics

Redshirt senior All-American now has 13 career top-fives in three seasons at South Carolina, the fourth-most in program history

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. – It was another standout week for redshirt senior All-American Frankie Harris as he paced South Carolina with a T-3rd individual finish at the Ford Collegiate on Monday in the team’s regular season finale. His final round 65 (-5) today was highlighted by an ace at the 200-yard, par-3 17th hole.

The Boca Raton, Fla. native fired a new career-low score of 199 (-11) this week with rounds of 63-71-65 at The Ford Field & River Club.

His 63 (-7) in the opening round Monday matched a program record low 18-hole score previously set in round two of his win at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate back on March 23. Harris finished the week T-3rd in the 72-man field with a team-high 16 birdies. He also T-1st in par-4 scoring average (3.78, -8).

Harris’ 199 total is T-6th lowest 54-hole score in program history. He now has four top-five finishes this season, including three wins. The program’s all-time career wins leader at six now has 13 career top-five finishes in Garnet & Black, good for fourth-most all-time in program history. His 70.38 career scoring average in 89 rounds played at South Carolina is the lowest in program history.

The Gamecocks had a nice finish to the tournament today, posting a 9-under 271 in round three with under par rounds from Harris, freshman Talan Harrison (-3, 67) and junior Brock Blais (-1, 69). Carolina finished 10th overall in a strong 12-team field with a 54-hole total of 840 (E). The Gamecocks tied for the field lead in par-3 scoring average (2.93, -4) this week and sophomore Marek Fleming finished T-2nd in the field in par-3 score average (2.75, -3).

No. 4 Texas ran away with the team title by 11 shots over No. 1 Auburn. The Tigers’ Jackson Koivun defeated the Longhorns’ Christiaan Maas with a birdie on the first playoff hole for his 10th career win.

South Carolina revs up postseason play next week at the 2026 SEC Men’s Golf Championship (April 22-26) at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course. This marks the 25th year Sea Island Golf Club will host the SEC Championship.
