No. 17 Beach Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season in Florida

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 17 South Carolina beach volleyball closes out the regular season on Friday and Saturday in Deland, Fla., at the Deland Cup. To begin play, the Gamecocks will face Georgia State on Friday at 8:30 a.m. and Stetson at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, South Carolina will play UNCW at 9 a.m. and North Florida at 1 p.m. 

LAST TIME OUT

The Gamecocks split results against No. 14 Stetson on Senior Day last Saturday at Wheeler Beach. South Carolina dropped the first match of the day, 3-2, but bounced back to grab a 3-2 win over Stetson.

Pairs two and five led the charge for the Gamecocks, winning their respective courts in both matches. Rachel Hartmann and Brooke Balue battled through two three-set matches against the Hatters, while Morgan Downs and Amelia Taft swept Stetson in the first match before going to extras in the second.

The Gamecocks are 4-3 against ranked opponents this season, highlighted by the 3-2 win over then-ranked No. 11 Arizona State.

SCOUTING THE WEEKEND FIELD 

GEORGIA STATE (16-15) 

All-Time Series Record: Georgia State leads the overall series 13-8. 

Last Meeting: Gamecocks won, 3-2 (4/19/2025) 

Series Note: South Carolina snapped a six-match losing streak against Georgia State with last year’s win at home. 

STETSON (21-8) 

All-Time Series Record: Stetson leads 12-6. 

Last Meeting: South Carolina won, 3-2 (4/11/2026) 

Series Note: The Gamecocks split results with the Hatters on senior day last weekend. This will be the fourth meeting between the two this season. South Carolina is 1-2 against Stetson this season. 

UNCW (11-17) 

All-Time Series Record: Gamecocks lead 15-0. 

Last Meeting: South Carolina won, 4-1 (3/14/2026) 

Series Note: The two programs met earlier in the season at the Carolina Challenge. 

NORTH FLORIDA (15-13) 

All-Time Series Record: North Florida leads the overall series 6-5. 

Last Meeting: Gamecocks won, 3-2 (2/20/2026) 

Series Note: This will be the second meeting this season between the two programs. South Carolina opened the 2026 season with a 3-2 win over North Florida, its first ranked win of the season.
