COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 1-3 on the week, defeating Davidson in the midweek and dropping three to No. 17 Mississippi State.

NOTES:
Will Craddock had a hit in all four games this week, including a leadoff home run in the win over Davidson on Tuesday night. Craddock has a team best nine home runs this season and is tied for the team lead with 25 RBI.

Alex Philpott threw four innings of relief in Sunday’s extra-inning game against Mississippi State. Philpott allowed just one hit with no runs and a strikeout. In SEC play, Philpott has a 1.42 ERA with seven strikeouts and three saves.

Ethan Lizama hit his first home run as a Gamecock in Friday’s game against Mississippi State. His three-run shot gives him nine RBI on the year.

Carolina had three home runs in the first inning in the win over Davidson – Craddock, Talmadge LeCroy and KJ Scobey – that led to five runs in the 8-6 win. LeCroy had three RBI in that game while Scobey knocked in two runs.

Carolina hosts Presbyterian in the midweek and then faces Kentucky on the weekend at Founders Park. Sunday’s game will be televised on SEC Network.
