Heck and Galitsky Tabbed Second Team All-SEC

The duo becomes the 34th and 35th All-SEC picks in 19 seasons under five-time SEC Coach of the Year Kalen Anderson
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced its annual women’s golf awards on Friday, which are voted on by the league’s 16 head coaches. Junior Vairana Heck and sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky were each named Second Team All-SEC representing the No. 24 Gamecocks.
Heck, the team’s highest ranked player in Clippd at No. 38, has put together the best season of her career to date so far this season. Her career-best 71.73 scoring average leads the team and her six top-20 finishes in nine stroke play starts also lead Carolina. She picked up her first career win at the Shootout at Wachesaw (March 9). Heck also led the team with a T-8th finish at the SEC Championship (April 17-19) shooting a career-low, 54-hole score of 207 (-3). The Boulogne-Billancourt, France native was also Second Team All-SEC her freshman season in 2023-24.
Galitsky, a First Team All-SEC selection and the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year last spring, leads the team this season with four top-10 finishes. Her 71.96 scoring average is No. 2 on the team behind Heck and her 12 rounds of par or better lead the team. She’s ranked No. 40 in Clippd. The Chaing Mai, Thailand native had three consecutive top-10 finishes to open the season which included co-medalist honors at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate (Sept. 8-10), her second career victory.

Heck and Galitsky were two of an NCAA record four Gamecocks that were selected to compete as individuals for NCAA Regionals (May 11-13). Heck and freshman Molly McLean will tee it up at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional while Galitsky and junior Maylis Lamoure will play in the NCAA Louisville Regional. There is 12 teams and six individuals at the six NCAA Regional sites across the country and the highest placing individual on a non-advancing team (outside the top-five in team standings) will punch their ticket to the NCAA Championship (May 22-27), which will be played for the third consecutive season at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
