Women's Tennis Falls to North Carolina in NCAA Round of 32

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 32 South Carolina women’s tennis team fell to No. 5 North Carolina, 4-0, in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles play, Jane Dunyon and Sara Borkop were first to finish, falling on court three, 6-0. The No. 12 duo of Lauren Friedman and Helena Buchwald battled back from a 3-0 deficit, putting two points on the board to make things 4-2. North Carolina was able to clinch the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Kaitlyn Carnicella and Jana Stojanova on court two.

To start singles, the Gamecocks weren’t able to get it going, dropping the first set on all six courts. The Tar Heels captured wins on courts one, five, and six to claim the overall match.
