Jori Heard Named All-SEC Softball First Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – South Carolina pitcher Jori Heard was named to the All-SEC First Team the conference announced Friday (May 8)
It’s the fourth consecutive season a South Carolina pitcher earned All-SEC honors (Donnie Gobourne, 2023; Alana Vawter, 2024; Sam Gress, 2025). Heard joins Trinity Johnson and Gobourne as the only South Carolina pitchers to be named to the All-SEC First Team.
Heard ranks fourth in the SEC with an ERA of 1.97 and fifth with a 1.12 WHIP among pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched. She also ranked fifth in the league with 75 strikeouts. She appeared in 19 of Carolina’s 24 league games, tossing 88 2-3 innings, fourth most in the league. She finished with a 5-9 record while allowing two earned runs or less in 15 of her 19 appearances.
On April 19, she tossed a complete game shutout at Missouri, allowing a season-low three hits. She followed that up with a complete game 3-1 victory over then-No. 11 Texas A&M. Against defending National Champion and then-No. 3 Texas, Heard held them to two runs in 11 1-3 innings pitched over three games. She also limited Longhorns to nine hits over the three games.
