COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team dropped three games to No. 19 Alabama this weekend.

NOTES:
The Gamecocks honored their five seniors on Saturday for Senior Day festivities. Talmadge LeCroy, Ethan Lizama, Jake Randolph, Logan Sutter and Luke Yuhasz were honored before the game.

Randolph and Yuhasz both had big offensive performances on Saturday. Randolph belted a three-run home run and had two hits, while Yuhasz was 3-for-4 on the day.

KJ Scobey hit his ninth home run of the season on Sunday in a 7-6 loss to Alabama. It was Scobey’s ninth home run of the season. He also had a triple and four hits in the three-game series against the Crimson Tide.

Alex Philpott pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief on Sunday, striking out a pair and not allowing a hit. The Carolina bullpen allowed just one hit in 4.1 innings in Sunday’s game.

Carolina will close out the regular season this week, facing Winthrop at Founders Park on Tuesday night and heading to Nashville to play Vanderbilt in a three-game SEC series.
