Gamecocks Draw Cal State Fullerton in NCAA Los Angeles Regional

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina softball team earned an at-large spot in the NCAA Tournament Sunday night (May 10), as the Gamecocks will travel to California for the Los Angeles Regional.

The Gamecocks were selected as the No. 7 seed in their quadrant and will take on Cal State Fullerton Friday (May 15) in the opening round at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+ while host UCLA faces Cal Baptist at 10 p.m. ET.

Carolina earns its 26th all-time bid to the NCAA tournament and its second under head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard.

The Gamecocks and Titans haven’t met since Feb. 15, 2003, in Las Vegas. The Titans have won all five meetings, with the previous four coming between 1983-87. Carolina and UCLA met earlier this season at the Mary Nutter Classic and faced off a season ago in the NCAA Super Regionals, with the Bruins leading the all-time series 15-2. The Gamecocks have never faced Cal Baptist.

Complete game times and television designations for the regional will be announced later.
