Stenzer Named to the CSC Academic All-District® Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina men’s tennis rising junior Max Stenzer has been named to the CSC Academic All-District® team, announced by the organization on Tuesday. 

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® men’s and women’s tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

CSC All-District team members meet the following criteria: At least a sophomore athletically and academically, owns at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 75% of all matches.

Stenzer finished his sophomore season with a 13-13 overall singles record and 24-12 doubles record. In singles he was 2-1 against ranked opponents, highlighted by an upset victory over No. 58 in the NCAA Super Regionals against No. 5 Virginia. Stenzer was the lone Gamecock to pick up a win in the match. His other ranked win came at a crucial moment, as he defeated No. 55 to clinch the win for South Carolina against Kentucky, helping the team snap a four match losing streak. 

In doubles Stenzer shined alongside teammate Sean Daryabeigi as the two had a 21-10 overall record which included a trip to the NCAA Individual Championships where the pair ultimately made it to the quarterfinals, earning All-American status. The pair remained ranked by ITA for the majority of the season, reaching a high of No. 34. Against ranked opponents, Stenzer and Daryabeigi were 5-3 which included a takedown of LSU’s No. 17 ranked duo when the Gamecocks played at the top of the lineup.

Academically, Stenzer held a 3.716 GPA as a Sport & Entertainment major. He has made it on the SEC Honor Roll every semester of his collegiate career so far in addition to being named to the President’s list and Dean’s list twice.
