Gamecocks Begin Postseason Competition with SEC Outdoor Championship
AUBURN, Ala. (May 13, 2026) – The grind of postseason track & field is upon us as the Gamecocks are putting together the final preparations for the SEC Outdoor Championships that will begin tomorrow at the Hutsell-Rosen Track in Auburn, Ala.

Ticket Information
Fans that are interested in attending the event at Hutsell-Rosen Track can do so for a fee. Tickets are $50 for premium seating with chairbacks or $40 for standard admission, covering all three days.
Meet Information
The best track & field teams in the country will be competing at one time this weekend for the right to call themselves SEC Outdoor Champions. On the women’s side, 11 of the 16 competing teams are ranked inside the USTFCCCA Top 25 rankings. Georgia enters as the highest-ranked squad, sitting atop the rankings, followed by Florida at No. 2 and South Carolina slotted in the third spot. LSU (No. 5), Texas A&M (No. 7) and Arkansas (No. 10) round out the Top 10 in the national poll. On the men’s side, 11 teams rank inside the Top 25, led by Arkansas at No. 1. Georgia (No. 3), LSU (No. 4), Texas A&M (No. 5), Tennessee (No. 6), Auburn (No. 7) and Alabama (No. 10) conclude the SEC teams ranked inside the Top 10 nationally.
The SEC Championship is a scored meet. The top eight scorers in each event will result in points for their teams in the following format (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1). Competitors who finish top three in events earn the title of All-SEC, with the top finisher earning a spot on the First Team, runner-up will land on the Second Team and the bronze medalist will take a spot on the Third Team.
The meet will start on Thursday with the decathlon events beginning at 12:30 p.m. (ET) The first true field event will be the women’s hammer throw at 1 p.m. (ET), while the first track event will be the women’s 800-meter prelims at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Friday’s festivities will begin with the final five decathlon events beginning at noon (ET), with the first field event starting at 4:30 p.m. ET (women’s shot put) and the first track event starting at 6:15 p.m. ET (women’s 100-meter hurdle prelims). Saturday’s closing day will start with women’s discus at 2:30 p.m. (ET) and conclude with the men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relay beginning at 9:30 p.m. (ET).
Last Chance Meet
This weekend’s SEC Outdoor Championship will serve as the final chance for athletes to qualify for the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Ky. on May 27-30. To qualify for the East Regionals, individuals must be ranked inside the Top 48, while relays need to sit Top 24.
As it stands right now, the Gamecocks have 42 East Regional qualifying marks heading into the final opportunity this weekend. Of the 42 marks, 17 are ranked inside the Top 10 and 10 of those 17 are Top five in the regional rankings.
