Jori Heard and Tori Ensley Named Second Team All-Region
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – South Carolina softball pitcher Jori Heard and centerfielder Tori Ensley were named to the Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Thursday (May 14).
The award honors softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2026 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
Heard earns her second NFCA All-Region honor after also being named to the second team last season. The senior ranks 23rd in the nation with an ERA of 1.95. Heard has made 38 appearances on the season, second-most in the SEC and 38th in the nation. She is 11-11 on the season with one save in 161 1-3 innings pitched. She has struck out 124 batters while tossing five complete games. On April 19, she tossed a complete game shutout at Missouri. She followed that up with a complete game 3-1 victory over then-No. 11 Texas A&M.
