Barbier Gazeu and da Silva Named ITA All-Americans
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Lucas da Silva and redshirt freshman Paul Barbier Gazeu earned ITA All-America honors after finishing the season ranked inside the nation’s top 20 in singles and doubles. Barbier Gazeu and da Silva finished the season ranked No. 7 nationally in doubles, earning All-America honors as a pair, while da Silva also secured singles All-America recognition after closing the season ranked No. 13 nationally. The recognition marks the first All-America honor of Barbier Gazeu’s career and the second for da Silva, who earned the doubles distinction last season.
The Gamecocks have officially garnered four All-Americans this season as Sean Daryabeigi and Max Stenzer earned the honor in doubles after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Individual Championships during the fall portion of the 2025-26 slate.
Da Silva delivered an impressive senior season for the Gamecocks, securing two SEC Player of the Week honors while compiling a 20-8 overall singles record. Competing from the No. 1 position, he posted an 13-4 dual match record with a 7-2 mark in SEC play. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native excelled against top competition, going 10-2 versus ranked opponents and earning two victories over the nation’s No. 3 player. He additionally pieced together a nine-match singles win streak, with eight victories coming against ranked competition, and climbed to a career-high No. 12 in the ITA singles rankings. For the second consecutive season, da Silva landed a spot on the All-SEC list, being named to the First Team.
Barbier Gazeu made an immediate impact during his freshman campaign, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors twice and leading the team with 25 singles wins. The Montpellier, France native recorded a 15-6 dual match record, going 7-3 at the No. 2 position and 8-3 at No. 3. During SEC play, he put together a five-match win streak that included a ranked victory over the nation’s No. 39 player. The freshman wrapped up the regular season with a pair of SEC honors, being named to the Second Team ALL-SEC in addition to a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. He also represented South Carolina at the NCAA Individual Championships in singles following a standout performance at the 2025 ITA East Sectionals, becoming the Gamecocks’ lone singles qualifier for the event this season.
In doubles competition, the two Gamecocks formed one of the nation’s top tandems. The pair finished with a 12-4 dual match record, including a 11-4 mark from the No. 1 position, while going 8-4 against ranked opponents. The duo also produced an eight-match win streak that featured four ranked victories and rose to as high as No. 6 in the national doubles rankings. The duos highest ranked win came during the Michigan State match at the ITA Kickoff Weekend when the Gamecocks defeated the No. 14 ranked pair.
