NEW YORK – Former South Carolina star Collin Murray-Boyles was named to the 2025-26 NBA All-Rookie Second Team it was announced Wednesday evening by the National Basketball Association.
He became just the 13th player in Toronto Raptors franchise history to earn all-rookie honors (first since Scottie Barnes in 2021-22).
Murray-Boyles appeared in 57 games, making 22 starts for Toronto in helping the team earn the No. 5 seed in the playoffs for the Eastern Conference with a 46-36 overall record. He averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals for the Raptors in his first NBA season. He shot 57.9% percent (198-for-342) from the floor, which was second amongst all rookies. Murray-Boyles had 25 games in double-figures, six games with 10 or more rebounds and four double-doubles as he was selected to compete in the Risting Stars showcase at NBA All-Star weekend in February. His 53 blocks were fifth-most by a rookie and his 52 steals were T-12th most this season by a first-year player in the NBA.
In seven playoff games for Toronto, Murray-Boyles averaged 14.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks while shooting 65.6% from the floor.
The Columbia, S.C. native made history last summer in June when he was selected No. 9 overall by the Raptors in the 2025 NBA Draft. He became the first South Carolina player selected in the lottery (top-14 selection) in the modern NBA Draft format (started in 1985).
Murray-Boyles, a Second Team All-SEC selection in his final season at South Carolina in 2024-25, concluded his Gamecock career averaging 13.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks per game in 60 career appearances in Garnet and Black. His career field goal percentage of 59.0% (315-of-534) is No. 2 all-time behind only Jimmy Foster (shot 59.6% from 1981-84).
He is the fourth player in program history (second under head coach Lamont Paris) to earn NBA All-Rookie honors, joining Gregory “GG” Jackson II (second team in 2023-24 for the Memphis Grizzles), Brian Winters (first team in 1974-75 for the Los Angeles Lakers) and Gary Gregor (first team in 1968-69 for the Phoenix Suns). John Roche was ABA First Team All-Rookie in 1971-72 for the New York Nets.
