Track & Field Returns to Familiar Grounds for NCAA East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 26, 2026) – For the third consecutive season, Gamecock Track & Field will lace up the spikes to compete in a postseason meet at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Facility in Lexington, Ky. This year, South Carolina returns to Lexington for the NCAA East Regional.

Ticket Information
Fans that are interested in attending the event in Kentucky can do so for a nominal fee. Full-session tickets are $68 for adults and $58 for youth/senior. Single day tickets are available for purchase as well at $24 for adults, $19 for youth/senior and $16 for college students. For a full rundown of the tickets, please click the following link.

Meet Information
The NCAA East Regional consists of the top 48 marks in individual events, top 24 relay teams in the region and the top 24 multi-event athletes. Each individual track event, excluding distance, will be composed of a first round (Top 48), followed by the quarterfinals (best 24 after opening round). Once the quarterfinals have taken place, the top 12 will secure their spots in the 2026 NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. on June 10-13. Field events operate differently, with throws, long jump and triple jump each getting three attempts, while high jump and pole vault will keep competing until there are only 12 remaining athletes.

The relay events and distance events will each run one race with the top 12 advancing to the national championship in two weeks.

The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women will compete on Thursday and Saturday. For a full schedule of the NCAA East Regional, click here.

Gamecocks take over Lexington
The Gamecocks qualified for a total of 20 events at the NCAA Regional, with 11 events coming on the women’s side and nine for the men.

There is a total of 17 entries for the 11 events for the Gamecock women, with seven athletes entered in multiple events. JaMeesia Ford leads the way with four events slated on her schedule, running the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay. She is followed by Alexis Brown and Cynteria James with three events. There are 12 entries ranked inside the East Region Top 10, led by Salma Ebaldra (1500m) and Akala Garrett (400mH) who rank first overall in their respective events. The women will begin their competition on Thursday at 6 p.m. with Tristen Harris in the long jump and Joslyn Hamilton in the 100-meter hurdles.

As for the men, there are 12 entries making up the nine events. Kaleb Burroughs, Devan Crumpton, Jasauna Dennis and Josiah Wrice are each scheduled for two events. Burroughs is scheduled to run in the 800m first round as well as the 4x400m relay, while Crumpton, Dennis and Wrice will compete in the 400m and the 4x400m relay. On the men’s side, there are four rankings found inside the Top 10 regionally, led by Josiah Wrice who sits third in the 400m and Jaouad Khchina who ranks fourth overall in the 1500m. Ellis Neighbors will kick things off tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the javelin, while David Warmington Jr. will be the first Gamecock on the track in the men’s 110mH opening round at 6 p.m.
