Gamecock Men Advance Six to the NCAA East Regional Quarterfinals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 27, 2026) – The Gamecock men opened the First Round of the NCAA East Regional on Wednesday afternoon with six student-athletes advancing to the quarterfinals on Friday.

David Warmington Jr. was the first to advance to the quarterfinal round when he finished 20th overall in the 110-meter hurdles and earned an at-large qualifying time of 13.77 (-0.1). Jaouad Khchina followed shortly after Warmington, finishing second overall in his heat in the 1500m to earn the automatic qualifying spot, running 3:43.56 to place eighth overall in the field.

Robert Stitts Jr. earned his place in Friday’s 100m quarterfinal session, running a new personal best time of 10.18 (-0.8) for the eighth fastest time in school history. Stitts was able to finish second in his heat and 16th overall in the first round, advancing as an automatic qualifier. Jasauna Dennis and Devan Crumpton advanced out of the 400m first round, running the 15th and 16th fastest times in the field. Dennis clocked 45.61 for a new collegiate personal best time and the sixth fastest time in school history, advancing on an at-large time. Meanwhile, Crumpton ran 45.62 and finished third overall in his heat to earn the automatic spot into Friday’s quarterfinal round.

The final qualifier to advance out of Wednesday’s first round was Edouard Lecrivain in the men’s 800m. The France native ran a new personal best time of 1:47.01 for the fifth fastest time in school history. Additionally, Lecrivain earned an at-large spot in the quarterfinals after placing ninth overall and fourth in his heat.

The Gamecock women will get their crack at the NCAA East Regional tomorrow in the first day of the women’s competition. South Carolina is slated to begin competing at 6 p.m. in the women’s long jump as well as the 100-meter hurdles.
