Gamecock Signees Set for USA Basketball Trials
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball incoming freshmen Kelsi Andrews and Oliviyah Edwards are among the 22 athletes expected to participate in the 2026 USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic and paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Trials being May 30 with the 12-member team anticipated to be announced at the conclusion of the trials.
The team will compete at the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup, scheduled for June 9-15 in Irapuato, Mexico, and will hold a four-day training camp prior to traveling to Mexico.
Andrews and Edwards are two of the seven players from the Class of 2026 invited to camp, which includes 13 from the Class of 2027 and two from the 2028 class. Andrews has two previous USA Basketball selections, competing in the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2023 FIBA U16 AmeriCup and helping the U.S. claim gold in both. Edwards has participated in USA Basketball camps and trials each of the last three years.
