Fleming Headed to Shinnecock for U.S. Open Next Week

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising junior Marek Fleming punched his ticket to the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills next week as he earned one of four final qualifier spots up for grabs at Del Paso Country Club late Monday evening.

The Tomball, Texas native shot 69-69 for a 36-hole total 138 (-4). He made seven birdies and an eagle over the course of two rounds.

It’s the second-straight year the Gamecocks will be represented at the U.S. Open as All-American Frankie Harris qualified for last year’s third Major Championship at Oakmont.

Fleming, who has played in a trio of U.S. Amateurs, will be making his U.S. Open debut.

Fleming, a native of Tomball, Texas, earned his final qualifier spot back on April 20 at Solina Golf Club in West Columbia. He shot 2-under (69) to advance alongside Harris and rising sophomore August Petersson.
