Pair of Gamecocks Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A pair of Gamecocks from the South Carolina beach volleyball team were named to the 2026 Academic All-District At-Large Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Senior Jolie Cranford and junior Brooke Balue represent the Gamecocks.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.

CSC All-District team members meet the following criteria: At least a sophomore athletically and academically, owns at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 75% of all matches.

Cranford, an exercise science major, boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA and earned the third Academic All-District honor of her career. The senior finished her career at South Carolina going 20-12 overall and 14-3 from the third position with Peyton Yamagata. The Highlands Ranch, Colo. Native earned her 75th career win against North Florida in April.

Balue, who is studying Marketing, secured a 22-10 record in her first season as a Gamecock after transferring from Washington. She earned Big 12 Pair of the Week honors with Rachel Hartmann after the duo concluded the season with a 12-7 record from the top position. She earned her 50th career win against UNCW in April, similar to Cranford.
