Trio of Gamecock Golfers Named CSC At-Large Academic All-District

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A trio of South Carolina golfers were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams on Tuesday. Rising junior Marek Fleming earned a spot on the men’s at-large team while rising seniors Vairana Heck and Maylis Lamoure earned spots on the women’s at-large team.

The CSC All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division. Heck will be on the voting ballot for CSC Academic All-America®.

CSC All-District team members meet the following criteria: sophomore athletically and academically with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and 75% competition in all team events for the calendar year.

Fleming appeared in all 11 events for the Gamecock men this season. He logged a 72.39 scoring average with 14 rounds of par or better and a pair of top-10 finishes. In the classroom, the finance major boast a perfect 4.0 GPA. The Tomball, Texas native will play in this week’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. Fleming will be one of 21 amateurs competing in the 156-player field. He tees off at 2:42 p.m. (ET) on Thursday and head coach Rob Bradley will be on the bag for him this week.

Heck and Lamoure each played all 10 events for the No. 25 Gamecock women’s team this season. Heck put together the best season of her career as she was tabbed a WGCA and Golfweek Honorable Mention All-American. She also earned Second Team All-SEC honors. Heck’s 71.86 scoring average and 12 rounds of par or better were second on the team. Her seven top-20 finishes led the squad. Heck earned her first career win at the Shootout at Wachesaw on March 9. She T-8^th at the SEC Championship (April 17-19) and T-19^th at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional (May 11-13). In the classroom, the economics major boast a 3.714 GPA with a pair of semesters on the President’s List (4.0 GPA).

Lamoure logged a 73.34 scoring average with eight rounds of par or better, four top-20 finishes and two top-10s. She finished T-26^th at the NCAA Louisville Regional (May 11-13). In the class room the psychology major sports a 3.562 GPA with four semesters on the Dean’s List (3.5 or higher GPA).
