Nine Gamecocks to Compete in USATF U20 Championships and Nike Outdoor Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. (June 17, 2026) – Summer competition is in full swing for Gamecock Track & Field as nine student-athletes will compete this week in both the USATF U20 Championships as well as the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The U20 Championships will take place June 18-19 with opportunities to qualify for a spot on Team USA’s U20 squad ahead of the World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon on August 5-9. The Nike Outdoor Nationals will run from June 20-22.

Six current Gamecocks will lace up the spikes this week in: Kaleb Burroughs, Knox Eaton, Jonny Harris, Tristen Harris, Khaliq Muhammad and Andrew Salvodon. Gamecock signees and newcomers Justin Arogundade, D’Anna Cotton and Cameron Tucker will also represent the Garnet & Black this week.

Competition will begin on Thursday with the men’s 400m preliminary round at 3:38 p.m. (ET) as Salvodon and Tucker will look to advance to Friday’s finale. The final competition on the weekend schedule for South Carolina will be the men’s long jump at the Nike Outdoor Nationals on Sunday at 6 p.m. with Arogundade set to compete. Overall, Gamecock student-athletes are scheduled to compete in a guaranteed 11 events with the opportunity to advance to the finals in both the men’s 400m and 800m.
