Fleming Makes Cut, Finishes T-56th at U.S. Open

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. – Rising junior Marek Fleming finished T-56^th at 10-over at the 2026 U.S. Open on Sunday. He fired scores of 72-72-74-72 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club over the course of four days this week.

Head coach Rob Bradley was on the bag as his caddie for the 72-hole Major Championship walk.

“Marek and I had a blast this week,” said Bradley. “He played at a really high level and hit so many great shots. I’m sure this will give him a lot of confidence moving forward. He definitely proved that he can compete with the best players in the world.”

Fleming made nine birdies total in 72 holes at Shinnecock  to go alongside 45 pars.

The Tomball, Texas native was one of just five amateurs to make the cut and one of just three college amateurs (11 total in the field) inside the 4-over cutline alongside Oklahoma’s Ryder Cowan and Oklahoma State’s Eric Lee. There was 20 total amateurs in the field this week at Shinnecock.

“It was a really great experience playing in my first major,” said Fleming. “ I am thankful for my family supporting me and for having coach Bradley on the bag. We did a really good job of limiting the mistakes – only having one double bogey for the week around a place like Shinnecock is very solid. It gives me a lot of confidence knowing my game can compete at the biggest tournaments in golf. Looking forward to keeping the momentum rolling.”

Fleming is the first Gamecock to place at the U.S. Open since three-time All-American Matt Nesmith finished T-37^th at the 2022 U.S. Open playing as a professional at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
