SEC Announces Home and Away Opponents for 2027

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Home-and-away assignments for the 2027 Southeastern Conference men’s basketball schedule were announced on Thursday morning. South Carolina will face all 15 other SEC schools at least once with home-and-home series against Florida, Georgia and Mississippi State.

The Gamecocks have had the toughest NET average schedule in each of the last two seasons of SEC play. Carolina’s KenPom average schedule was fourth the last two seasons for a composite average of 2.5, trailing only Kentucky (1.5).

South Carolina’s nine home games will feature six teams that made the 2026 NCAA Tournament: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M and Texas. The Gamecocks will hit the road to square off with Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Head coach Lamont Paris enters his fifth season leading the program in 2026-27. The Gamecock roster this season will feature 12 new players: forward Mathias Alessanco (Joinville, Brazil), forward Aleksas Bieliauskas (Wisconsin), guard Shane Blakeney (Drexel), forward Juan Fernández (Santa Fe, Argentina), guard Davion Hannah (Alabama), forward Camden Heide (Texas), forward Nasir Hines (Palm Beach State College), guard Marcus Johnson (Garfield Heights High School), forward Hugo López (Madrid, Spain), guard Kory Mincy (George Mason), forward Jakub Nečas (Duquesne) and guard Ford Wilder (Wilson Hall High School).

The team has also three new assistant coaches on the sideline in Bob Donewald Jr. (previously at Ole Miss), Steve Smith (previously at Boston College) and Sam Dekker (recently retired after 11-year professional career in the NBA and overseas).
